Raynes Agrees Town Deal

Stockport Town Football Club are delighted to announce that experienced Defender Michael Raynes has agreed to join The Lions from 1st July 2022 on a 2 Year Deal *

This is a major coup for the Club, in attracting the calibre of player that is Raynes to SSV. Raynes will also be joining our coaching team as Joint Assistant Manager in conjunction with Mike Jeffries.

Paul Turnbull, Town Manager said of the signing " This is a massive signing for Town and I am really pleased that we have managed to attract a player of Raynsey calibre to Stockport Town. Raynsey is a very experienced player who has played a vast amount of games in The Football League. It will be great to get back on the pitch with Raynsey. We were both products of Stockport County's Centre of Excellence and played together in 2010 for County. This signing clearly shows are intentions for the forthcoming season"

Raynes spoke on signing for Town " I am very happy to agree and sign this deal with Stockport Town FC and I cannot thank the Gaffer and his team for their belief in me and giving me the chance to be a part of the team and club on it's extremely exciting project & journey that it is on. The facilities and infrastructure at SSV is fantastic and I cannot wait to start the season and hopefully push the team towards promotion and a very successful 2022/23 NWCFL 1st Division South campaign"
